The Species Survival Plan (SSP) for the Giant Panda is a conservation and management plan in which member organizations of the AZA work to further the conservation of this endangered species.

Several recent news articles out of China have announced a WWF-associated survey of pandas in Qinling, China. The goal of the project is to obtain records on the area's 300 pandas in order to monitor changes over time and learn more about that population of bears.
